    The Tale of Castle Cottage
The final book in Susan's delightful series, The Cottage Tales of Beatrix Potter, will be in your neighborhood bookstore on September 6. The Tale of Castle Cottage tells the story of Miss Potter's wedding to Mr. Heelis—and many other little adventures, as well. If you've been reading this series, we know that you'll be sorry (we are!) to see it end. But the wonderful thing about books is that we can visit them again and again. Oh, and if you haven't started this remarkable series yet, you can read all about it here. All the books continue to be available in print and ebook format.

    The Darling Dahlias
The second book in the Darling Dahlias series, The Darling Dahlias and the Naked Ladies, is now available. This series is set in fictional Darling AL, during the 1930s and features members of the town's garden club, the Dahlias. The first book, The Darling Dahlias and the Cucumber Tree, earned two coveted starred reviews, in Library Journal and Booklist, and is available as an audiobook.

    Mourning Gloria
China Bayles' nineteenth adventure reminds us that herbs aren't always those sweet, comforting plants we love to grow in our gardens—they have a darker side, too. The signature herbs in this book are plants that contain phytochemicals that keep us awake, put us to sleep, or otherwise influence our moods, for good and for ill. There's a mystery, too (naturally!), and visits to China's and Ruby's shops. We know you'll enjoy it. For signed/personalized copies, use our order form. The audiobook is also available, as a download from Audible.com.

    Susan's Memoirs
For those of you who missed them, here are Susan's two recent memoirs:

Together, Alone: A Memoir of Marriage and Place
Together, Alone Susan tells the story of her marriage to Bill, the life they have built together on their Texas homestead, and her efforts to strike a balance between the intimacy of marriage and the serenity of solitude. On the book's website, you can read the prologue and the first chapter, watch a trailer, check out the book reviews, click through photo albums, and listen to some lovely music. (Available as an audiobook in 2012)

An Extraordinary Year of Ordinary Days
From the University of Texas Press: In An Extraordinary Year of Ordinary Days, best-selling mystery novelist Susan Wittig Albert invites us to revisit one of the most tumultuous years in recent memory, 2008, through the lens of 365 ordinary days in which her reading, writing, and thinking about issues in the wider world—from wars and economic recession to climate change—caused her to reconsider and reshape daily practices in her personal life. more...

Your purchase of Susan's books, as always, supports the work of the Story Circle Network. Thank you!

    Robin Paige's Books

For those of you who may have missed one or two books in the now-completed Robin Paige series, you'll find a full list on the series webpage, along with other historical materials.

    Bill Albert's Woodwright Shop

For years, Bill has been making turned vases and bowls from the trees he harvests at Meadow Knoll and in the surrounding Hill Country: mesquite, pecan, hackberry, elm, and sycamore. He has just completed a new series of pieces. You can see them on his website, where they're available for purchase. (20% of the price of each piece goes to Story Circle.)

    Lifescapes

Susan's gardening life has been complicated this summer by the Texas-sized heatwave and drought that have blanketed the Hill Country. You can find out all about in her blog, Lifescapes, where you can also read about the current writing and reading projects and life in general.
